Give to the Needy, Hungry, Thirsty and the Stranger to Enter Heaven

It is not works replacing grace, but works revealing grace.

I don't know if you have heard it preached at your church that being saved from sin and entering heaven seriously includes active and intentional caring for the needy and the weak. We're familiar with what Paul said about being saved by grace through faith alone, not of yourself, not of works. It's a gift. And it's true. Jesus Christ taught Paul that through divine supernatural revelation.

But the problem is, we just focused on what Paul said and paid little to zero attention to what Jesus said about salvation, aside from being born again and receiving him to have the right and power to be children of God. We must combine what Jesus and Paul said and not pit them against each other. Denominations do that. To preserve their doctrines they make bible passages contradict each other so that one denomination focuses on once saved always saved, another believes salvation can be lost.

Supernatural powers that GOD gave the church but which the church belittled and rejected are now in the hands of the occult, distorted. But GOD is about to restore everything back to HIS true church in the end times. Click here to learn more.

Salvation as Taught by Jesus

Salvation, as Jesus taught, is not a passive belief or siding with Jesus because you're afraid to go to hell—it is an active, intentional life of obedience to His commands, especially going all-out in caring for the needy. In Matthew 25:31–46, Jesus paints a vivid picture of the final judgment, where the decisive factor is whether people fed the hungry, clothed the naked, visited the sick and imprisoned, and welcomed strangers. He equates these acts of mercy with serving Him directly: “Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” And then he sends those who ignored the needy to "eternal punishment." This shows that salvation is inseparable from compassionate action. It is not that good works earn salvation, but that genuine faith in Christ manifests a must-have fruit resulting from radical obedience and love. No one can claim to be saved and not be radically in love with Jesus and not radically obey him. It doesn't work that way.

Dead Faith

This clarifies what salvation by grace through faith truly means. Grace is God’s gift, unearned and undeserved, but faith is not a mental assent—it is active trust expressed in obedience, especially caring for and giving to the poor and helpless. James 2:17 declares, “Faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.” Believing in Jesus is not simply acknowledging His existence or attending church services or bible studies (and learning a lot), which even demons do. Demons know who Jesus is, they tremble at His authority, they're never absent in church services and activities, and yet remain unsurrendered and in rebellion. Demons will never sell all their possessions and give money to the poor. Have you ever heard of a local church or denomination that sold everything they had---building, property, vehicles and all---and gave the money to the poor? I'd like to see one. True belief is surrendering to the Lordship of Christ, which means submitting to His teachings and commands. When Jesus says, “If you love me, keep my commandments” (John 14:15), He makes obedience the evidence of love and faith.

Luke 12.33: "Sell your possessions and give to the poor. Provide purses for yourselves that will not wear out, a treasure in heaven that will never fail, where no thief comes near and no moth destroys"

Caring for the needy is therefore not optional charity but a Kingdom requirement. It demonstrates that one’s heart has been transformed by grace. The rich young ruler in Matthew 19 asked how to inherit eternal life, and Jesus told him to sell his possessions, give to the poor, and follow Him. Jesus said this not as a rejection of salvation by grace but a revelation that true grace involves radical surrender. To cling to wealth while ignoring the poor is to reject the Kingdom values of love, justice, and mercy. Jesus insists that salvation is not about outward religiosity but inward transformation that produces outward fruit, particularly the surrender of your money and resources to his Lordship, and making this practical by the actual giving of your money to the needy. Any needy, regardless of religion, good or bad character, whether he attends church or not, believes God or not, or whether he still wallows in sin or has surrendered to God. The qualification Jesus said was "the poor."

This understanding also dismantles the false security of religious activity. Many attend church, sing hymns, and participate in programs, but their lives are devoid of mercy and obedience. Their faith is hollow. Jesus warned in Matthew 7:21, “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father.” Doing the Father’s will includes giving up everything (not just some or a majority of your possessions), giving to the poor and caring for the needy (not just pittance giving but in proportion to how God is blessing you), forgiving others, and living in humility. Grace empowers believers to live this way, and faith is the active response of surrender and obedience.

Whoever Believes Shall Not Perish

Thus, salvation by grace through faith is perfectly clarified in the call to care for the needy. Grace saves us, but faith proves itself in action. To believe in Jesus is to trust Him enough to obey Him, even when it requires sacrifice. This obedience assures us that we shall not perish but have everlasting life, because it shows that our faith is alive and genuine. Eternal life is not given to those who merely acknowledge Jesus but to those who surrender to His Lordship and walk in His ways. Caring for the needy is the visible sign of invisible grace, the fruit of true faith, and one of the evidences that a person really belongs to the Kingdom.

In summary, salvation is not mental assent or ritual attendance. It is total surrender to Jesus, expressed in obedience to His commands, especially in serving the least, the needy, the marginalized and the lost. This is the faith that saves—the faith that works through love. It is not works replacing grace, but works revealing grace. To believe in Jesus is to live as He lived, to love as He loved, and to serve as He served. This is the assurance of eternal life: a faith that obeys, a grace that transforms, and a salvation that cares for the needy and sees Christ Himsself in them.
