Stewardship is how we take care of another's property entrusted to us and the idea is to manage it well to make it profitable. But God has a different idea about stewardship. It's how we give up what's entrusted to us, how we lose valuable things he blessed us with, so we may gain Him. Stewardship to God is losing material things dear to us to make the right spiritual investment. But church has it the other way around. It sees stewardship the way the world does---storing up treasures on earth. Or, if they talk about stewardship of time, it's making "smart" use of time by being busy accomplishing things.  Photo above by  Jonathan Pielmayer   on   Unsplash . Stewardship of money is often seen like what corporate companies do with their finances. Church would fuss a lot about accounting and auditing, records and ledgers, the works. Spending only according to agreed budgets and apportionments. Not a cent would be used for anything unless the church board approves...

Only the spoken Word is Spirit and Life--so get the spoken Word, not just the printed Word! And I mean, spoken, as in spoken from God's own mouth. It can't be overemphasized (I'm not exaggerating)--the spoken WORD is LIFE. We often treat God's Word as a book we bring to church on Sundays so we'd look Christian. Jesus' resurrection--it was the first in the world. It was purely supernatural. And that resurrection is part of a believer's daily life. We experience it right NOW and yet it's still to come. Because Christ's resurrection is purely supernatural, you cannot afford not to believe that the supernatural still happens everyday in a believer's life. Resurrection is not a decision to change for the better because you're now a regular church person. It's a supernatural transformation only God can effect in you. The satanic kingdom has no real power but it stole the supernatural powers that GOD gave the church when the church neglected them. Then the evil kingdom distorted everything about that power. Jesus stressed it fairly enough--- "Do your best to enter the narrow door." Or "make every effort."  He didn't say try to enter or consider praying for it. From the time of Judges, the Passover rites had been terribly neglected. Even great men like Gideon, David, and Samuel the prophet failed to restore the Passover. Idolatry aggravated and accumulated in various forms and fashions until God sent Josiah. It was time for judgment. See that? Josiah was God's blessing to His people, and it was also the time for judging them. Judgment is a blessing. God's judgment is God's blessing The book of the Law was discovered in King Josiah's time (after being lost for generations). Image from The Longest Straw. There are blessings in godly judgments--the judgment God releases through his prophets or prophetic servant. When GOD is judging you, HE is blessing you. Many would raise the eyebrows at this. Do you know how you're so blessed when God judges you? And the blessing is this---he judges you to spare you from bigger troubles. That's a powerful blessing. The judgment doesn't seem a blessing now (especially if you don't understand God) because, first, he scolds you (GOD never yells or bawls at you in anger. But HE scolds). Second, he corrects you. Third, he tells you the gloomy picture if you go on with your error. sensusfide "By faith Abel presented God a better sacrifice," (Heb.11). A better sacrifice. If you knew a better way of worshipping God, would you do it? Churches spend, time, money and effort tiring themselves out to give God a better worship. Some do it with long hours and countless songs, some non-stop, some with the best musical instruments. They look attractively spiritual, but why? Why do we still do them? Why do we still think it's by our hard efforts? Because we fail to see what's a better sacrifice in God's eyes.
